The Pre-Assignment Orientation Visit is designed to impart a high degree of local knowledge for intending transferees to become fully acquainted with their prospective city.  The visit sets expectations regarding residency, schooling, living conditions and cost of living.  Our transferees are accompanied by one of our knowledgeable Consultants who will provide a guide to relocation for the transferee. This service is a must for anyone unsure of whether to accept a corporate relocation assignment in a new city.

The Rigby Relocations intensive one or two-day area orientation and briefing incorporate:

• City and residential locality tour including discussion of suitable areas and local community facilities, transport, etc.

• Representative housing inspections based on your criteria and budget, followed by discussion and analysis.

• A briefing of current local real estate trends along with an outline of standard practices; i.e. lease duration, tenant obligations, rental bond, etc.

• Discussion regarding public and private school system and classification of suitability.

• Schooling for each child and discussion of childcare facilities. School visits will be made where appropriate.

• Identification of local supermarket and shopping precincts.

• Discussion and identification of Medical/Health facilities and systems.

• Identification of local sporting clubs and venues to suit each family member's preference

• Guidance to opening up bank accounts, obtaining credit cards, local health insurance and tax registration.

• Information regarding Internet and paid T.V. access.

We are fully aware that this is one of the most critical areas of relocation for transferees and we will assist you in finding the ideal property to suit your needs and lifestyle.

Each home search is customised but typically includes:

School Search and Education Consulting

Following extensive consultation with the relocating family, our education consultants assist the family with the important decision of choosing the most appropriate school for their children. 

Education Consultants:

• Arrange student(s) and parent interview to discuss personal needs and education expectations.

• Advise on appropriate schools relevant to assessed academic records and availability.

• Provide school prospectuses (if applicable) and comments.

• Organise tentative placements with chosen school(s); arrange appointments (expat-accompanied as required); enrolment assistance and follow-through.

• Discuss and offer advice with final selection.

• Advise and assist with enrolment arrangements, uniform purchases and related details.

Kindergarten and Childcare

We can also assist families in locating kindergartens, childcare and day care facilities that are local to their new home.
